Novel Escape — 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea

We are al huge book lovers so when we saw this escape room that is based upon a great classic we knew we had to check it out! Went with my husband, 10 year old and 15 year old and all had a blast! Super clever puzzles and the set was cool. The host was just the nicest guy who was friendly and funny. Can't wait for them to open up their other room!

Did a Virtual Escape room with our team - the '20,000 Leagues Under The Sea' room. It was super fun; everyone had a great time and it highly exceeded our expectations.

People dial in over Zoom and there is a host you talk to as he walks you through the room. They also have an accompanying web page and as you ask the host to look at different things in the room they will put up close-up photos and videos of the things on the web page so that you can get a closer look.

Great adventure and luckily we were able to escape just before running out of air!

We just finished playing this room and – wow - what a great experience. 20.000 Leagues Under The Sea did really impress us even after over 50 remote escape rooms. They have very unique puzzles and our host Captain Nemo aka George was amazing. We smiled and laughed throughout the entire time and loved every minute of the game on the Nautilus.

I have done physical escape rooms prior to this and wasn't sure what to expect. Our host did a great job leading a group through the puzzles. He made it very entertaining and added some extra flair to the game. There were a couple of things that we needed some help on, but that was more to do with viewing the world through a screen vs. live. We had 6 people and that seemed about right for this room. I definitely recommend this if you have a group looking for some virtual fun.

We had a great time in the virtual room. Our Captain Nemo host was fun and interactive. She was phenomenal and added to the experience. The room was challenging and the clues were good. Would definitely recommend to friends.

We had a great time and the guide did exactly what we told them. It was challenging, but not to the point of frustration. It was completely family-friendly and we all laughed out loud at multiple points. I'd give it 10/10

Our host, Captain Nemo, was a hoot and the sets were beautiful and immersive. Some seriously clever puzzles and fun technical reveals. This was my first time playing a game with Telescape and I thought the format worked perfectly for COVID! Probably my most fun virtual experience thus far (and I've played several digital format games!) Loved the many allusions to the novel and that this company is all literary-inspired!

Gist - I wanted to do another right away.

First time through a remote/video escape room, and perhaps our 4th escape room in total. The host was friendly and helped just the right amount to minimize the issues I thought would exist due to being remote. The theme was fun and well integrated, but not so much that we had to be an expert in it (20k Leagues, etc.).

Puzzles were fun and varied in difficulty.

I would have liked a tutorial run through of the inventory app before the session. It was not complicated at all, but we'd have been that much more efficient if we'd had a tutorial prior to the session.

There were a lot of "lock puzzles". Not a problem, I just found myself thinking about how many locks had to be opened toward the end.

My family of four has done a couple of live escape rooms in the past. This was just as fun and is Covid friendly! We were able to complete the task in the allotted time. Our host George was helpful but let us find our own way. The technology was easy to use. I would highly recommend playing this with friends or family!

I had a great time with my group in this room. We could have been a little more efficient up front, but things were tight at the end. Thankfully many of the puzzles are really nicely designed so that thinking rather than arbitrary guesses move you forward. The technology was very well done for this remote room, and we had a lot of fun with the host/avatar.

I had a great time with this room! The host is super nice and enthusiastic, and the puzzles are spot on in terms of difficulty - we escaped but it took us down to the last second. Everything in the room was really creative and narratively engaging. I would absolutely recommend this experience.

I played the virtual version of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea in a team of four. We'd all played physical escape rooms before, but this was our first online experience. Our host, Captain Nemo, was fantastic and made the virtual game run very smoothly. The inventory system worked well in tandem with the camera/Zoom call. The puzzles were lighthearted but clever, and the room built to an exciting climax. Highly recommended!

I purchased this virtual escape room as a fun holiday gift for my team. This is the second virtual escape room and have done several others in person and this was by far the best one I have participated in! From the beginning our host was amazing. We were cracking dad jokes and she stayed in character the whole time. The puzzles were both challenging and fun to work through. Even though we were virtual, I could tell that the game was expertly crafted with 3D printed fish, vivid colors and subtle clues to help you along the way. The quality of the audio and video during the escape room were great as well and we were even able to snap a photo at the end!

My team and I had a blast and days later continue to talk about how much fun we had. I am excited to see the new game that you are developing and hope to see you again soon :)

Very clever and immersive. We had a great challenging time that left all four of us stumped multiple times. Played with family of four including a nine and a twelve year old.

Pattern matching, critical thinking and logic puzzles abound.

Great combination of fun puzzles, immersive set, effects and fun story. Definitely helped to work together and have a diverse skillset on our team.

The 20,000 Leagues room at Novel Escape was incredibly fun! The level of detail was great and the puzzles were fun and accessible. This is a great room for both experienced players and those who are new to escape rooms. The ambiance created in the game makes for an immersive experience that goes beyond many other escape rooms. Great experience, friendly staff, would definitely recommend!

This is among my favourite games online (of about 30 played). The host was very engaging and really pleasant, and the puzzles were clever and well integrated into the narrative. Not super high tech, but very clever. Recommended!!
