As with everything in life, there is good and bad. The bad is that it's virtual and you miss out on the personal experience. The good is that it's virtual and you get other benefits:
You're able to connect with family/friends from around the country.
You're able to play from your own home.
Although you're not able to divide and conquer, you also don't miss out on how each puzzle is solved. You're able to enjoy all the problems and solutions together.
Gold Fever was well adapted to virtual play - the puzzles weren't too hard or too many for the time allotted.
The host worked well with our group and worked out any computer glitches before beginning the room. I was happy that they left the virtual room open for us so we could talk afterwards.
I recommend this virtual escape room to beginners and experienced players.
The host made it a fun time for my wife and kids. The puzzles were just the right amount of complex for a zoom experience...
This was our 3rd virtual escape room with this company. Gold Fever was the hardest yet! We finished the other two rooms with 15 minutes to spare, but not this one. We barely finished and had to ask for 2 hints. It felt rewarding to finally crack this room. Design-wise, it probably would've been more fun to do in person. For the future virtual rooms, I hope they keep designing more linear scenarios, otherwise it's too chaotic and frustrating to do online. :) We had fun!
This is a wonderful way to share a real world experience in a virtual setting with your family and friends. Creating shared memories makes us feel closer.
What a fantastic idea to get through this quarantine. I plan on grabbing some friends and doing more.
Gold fever was fun and clever. I can’t share the clever things because I don’t want to ruin anything but there is a wonderful attention to detail. Our virtual host was the perfect blend of letting us find our own way to clues but if we asked for a clue they were still puzzling but just sent you in the right direction.
Do make sure your technology is set up ahead of time, we had some zoom issues, but our host was gracious and let us start a few minutes late to accommodate the technical issues.
Absolutely recommend!
