This is one of the best online rooms I have done. Lots of detail in the design, great for Evil Dead fans. The host was charismatic and made the experience fun and run smoothly. I liked the inventory system and the idea to have characters, this made it feel even more immersive.
The set design was amazing. If you aren't familiar with the movie, that won't prevent you from enjoying this one but as a fan of the movie, I was blown away by the care that went into making the set screen accurate. The host was in character the whole time and was awesome.
This is by far one of my favorite live by Zoom games. Cannot recommend this one enough.
An excellent online experience. Really energetic GM, and a very functional inventory system. Although being familiar with the movie helped make it more fun, it was absolutely not necessary.
Great experience with a great host! Puzzle were clever! If you have or have not seen the movie, you would really enjoy it!
This was about as good as a remote escape room as I can imagine. Using the host/avatar felt like a natural part of the story, plenty of puzzles, great inventory tech and methods, absolutely recommend this above all others.
I haven't watched Evil Dead 2 in years and going through this room really brought back a lot of great memories of the series. Our host Seth was exceptional and really did a fantastic job running the room. I wish I could've played this on onsite.
Fantastic escape room. Myself and our entire group were shocked by how perfectly it worked virtually. I was extremely skeptical about trying in escape rooms online, but now I can’t wait to try their next endeavor. The host idea was worked into the story brilliantly, and just a super great dude!
A group of us played this room virtually last night and didn't know what to expect. We were all blown away. So much fun. The creators obviously love the source material, the Evil Dead 2 feature film, and went out of their way to add cool details and Easter eggs. The host was so much fun and added a real personality to the experience that you don't get when you are wandering around an escape room by yourself (or with your group). Highly recommended!
This is spooky goodness as it's best. The host had us laughing the whole way through. Spooky puzzles are a very clever. Highly recommended!
This game has an excellent reputation and it certainly lived up to the hype. Absolutely excellent set design with incredible attention to detail with some cool special effects that translated well over remote video. Really fun puzzles and a good pace. Used an inventory system (the same one as used by Ready Mayor One) that kept all 5 of us on the team busy, sometimes together and sometimes splitting up to solve different puzzles. A fantastic (and hilarious) host (fully in character) made the whole thing even more fun. If you're an Evil Dead 2 fan you must play this game, but if even if you're not it's still highly recommended.
This was amazing! I did not expect this to be as good as an in person escape room but it was actually better! I was able to get my friends from back east who are huge Bruce Campbell fans to play with me. We even dressed up in the costumes and tried one of the cocktail recipes.
HourGlass Escape Room's officially licensed Evil Dead 2 escape room is without a doubt one of the coolest experiences I've ever had!
This was my first time ever doing any sort of escape room activity and I had an absolute blast. From the puzzles, to the design/layout, and the host himself, everything was just awesome!
Whether you're a fan of escape rooms or a fan of Evil Dead, this is something truly special that you won't want to miss out on!
We played this game virtually, with a group of people we didn't know. It turned out the virtual platform lent itself well to strangers playing together. The gentleman playing the avatar did a great job doing what a bunch of different people were telling him to do. It took a little getting used to, as any escape room does, but they really tried to make it seem like we were at the site. The puzzles were diverse, and challenging, and we really appreciate the variety of mediums used. Thank you for having us!
We had 6 of us play and it was a lot of fun. Our host was funny and prompted when necessary. We didn't escape in time so we'll probably give it another go.
We are a family of four -- parents, one college student and a high schooler -- and had a fun time. The guy who played our ingame avatar had a great sense of humor and did a great job balancing letting us figure it out versus making sure we didn't miss anything.
I and three friends participated in the online Evil Dead escape room and it was amazing! The level of detail that went into the room was incredible, but it was also just was a well designed escape room that was fun to play and adequately challenging. We were a bit nervous about a digital escape room would work while we're in COVID shelter, but they have the system down pat. You were with a real person in the room as your avatar, which we were afraid might be awkward but the guy was great. He was funny and helpful without giving too much away. Anything in the room that's hard to see can also be 'unlocked' as you go through online resources which worked well. I loved the level of theatricality and the ability to bring the game into your home with suggested characters, costumes, cocktail recipes, and digital backgrounds. We made a full party out of it with Evil Dead-inspired decor and food too, but that was our personal touch. I'm a huge Evil Dead fan but not everyone playing with me was, but everyone had an amazing time and we can't wait to do the next room this company is working on!
I wasn't sure how a virtual escape room was going to work, but Hourglass created a perfect event for myself and five other friends from across the country to enjoy during this COVID-19 pandemic.
The room was a blast, the staff did a great job keeping us connected to the puzzles and the environment and the game was a ton of fun.
I honestly wasn't sure how well the escape room experience would translate to a video call when I started, but I wanted to try the room. Let me tell you, this room has set the bar really high. The set was amazing, and the puzzles were interesting, but what really made the experience for me was the interaction with our host. He was in character the entire time, connecting us to the story and the room in a way I didn't think would be possible over a video call.
My only criticism is that the inventory system was a little clunky, but it really didn't take away from the experience at all.
Fans of the Evil Dead films will appreciate the attention to detail in the set, but even if you haven't watched the movie, I think you'll be blow away by how much fun this room is.
Seth was great. Really felt like we were there. You could tell a great deal of effort and passion went into this
At first I was skeptical. How do you do an escape room from home? But this was a total blast. The set is incredible and very faithful to the film. Keep an eye out for easter eggs! Also, the host is amazing. Lots of fun.
I absolutely LOVE this room! I’ve worked in multiple escape rooms across the country and have played even more. The Evil Dead 2 escape room has everything an escape room fanatic wants. Great story line. Unique puzzles that flow. Beautiful set design. Suspenseful. Challenging but not impossible. Bravo to these creators and the actor that helped make our game play an unforgettable one. HIGHLY recommend!
This is an awesome room for anybody, especially fans of the film as they went above and beyond with the design and the clues. If playing online, I highly suggest paying close attention to your host as he/she is a huge part of the whole experience! Have fun!
I've been a fan of all of Hourglass' rooms in Seattle - the designs and immersion are always top-notch, the puzzles are clever and fun (and mostly family-friendly!). But I had no idea how well a "virtual" escape room could actually be! If you're an Evil Dead fan, you'll be in heaven - if not, you'll want to rush to your nearest streamer and watch the movie right away. The host does an amazing job keeping you laughing - and guessing! -- and making sure you're never too lost with the subtlest of clues (and jokes). You'll have a blast!
From the set design to the puzzles to the host himself, this game was put together and presented perfectly! Loved every minute of it!
